Useful Scripts

Beeper

Send alphanumeric pages via Internet connection to Skytel and PageNet:
/usr/local/bin/beep
Sample script for OpenView or other management system to select who to send page to:
/usr/local/bin/selective_beep

OpenView Backup

These are my scripts for incremental and full back up of an HP-UX 10.20 box running HP OpenView NNM 4.10.

The root crontab entries are as follows:

#Full back up of OpenView every Wednesday night at 10 p.m.
00	22	*	*	3	/usr/local/bin/openview_full_backup
#Incremental back up of OpenView Mon,Tues,Thu, Fri nights at 10 p.m.
00	22	*	*	1,2,4,5	/usr/local/bin/openview_incremental_backup

I would love some comments.

My operators prefer it now that ovw is up and running on the console in the morning. Anyone know how bring it up with the correct user id?
